Rick's Cafe

West End, Negril

A cliffside bar and restaurant on Negril's West End, open since 1974, where the end of the day is the thing everything is arranged around.

Why go

It sits on the cliffs rather than the beach, which is the whole difference between the two sides of Negril. The water is below you rather than in front of you.

There is cliff diving here, and it is part of the experience. Rick's has been on the West End since 1974.

Where it fits

The West End is the other side of town from Seven Mile Beach. Which side you are near shapes an evening in Negril more than where you are staying does.

This is an evening rather than an afternoon. The sun going down over the water is the fixed point, and the rest of the visit arranges itself around it.

Good to know

Our take

Our view: go for the cliffs and the end of the day rather than for the food. The food and drink are part of the evening, but the cliffs and the sunset are what the place is arranged around. If that is not the evening you want, the West End has a lot of coastline either side of it.
